Academic Language Models

The researchers, practitioners, and educators who gathered at the first Working Group meeting shared a variety of models for conceptualizing academic language. These models of academic language would inform and guide instructional practice. The Group agreed that sharing models could be an effective way of pushing forward a critical dialogue among educators, policymakers, and other key stakeholders about issues and practices affecting the academic English language development and related achievement of all students, and particularly our EL students.

Those models will be shared in this area.
