Publications

The Working Group envisions an online library that has subsections of interest to teachers, program administrators, specialists in teacher professional development, and researchers. Initially, this area will be a home for publications and working papers related to:

• descriptions of the core components of academic language (vocabulary, grammar, language functions, text structure, and genre)
• a framework for effectively addressing these components in instructional practice
• analyses of the crucial role that mastery of academic language plays in the academic achievement of all students

The Working Group is currently planning an edited volume. As that project evolves, updates and draft chapters will appear here.
